Vote NO on Initiative 2019

Illustration of stacked gold coins with a rising graph and arrow, symbolizing financial growth and profit increase.

If 2019 passes in November, it would:

  • Repeal Washington’s limited capital gains tax. (The 7% tax applies only to profits of more than $250,000 on the sale of assets like stocks and bonds.)

  • Slash more than $5 billion in critical funding for public education, childcare and early learning.

  • Send school districts scrambling when, like those on Whidbey Island, they are already facing budget shortfalls.

  • Repeal one of the most equitable fixes to our state tax code in 90

  • Give mega-millionaires and billionaires – the wealthiest .2% of Washingtonians - a big tax cut that shifts more tax pressure on the rest of us.
