The 2021 and 2020 Holiday Parties were cancelled because of the pandemic. We are planning to have a party in December 2022.

Recent parties have been held at the Whidbey Island Nodic Lodge Hall, just south of Coupeville.
SummerFest 2021 had over 100 online attendees at the August 28th virtual gathering! The Whidbey Island Democratic Club hosted 17 candidates and elected officials. Our speakers included: Rick Larsen, incumbent, US Rep. WA 2nd CD; Dave Paul, incumbent, WA Rep. 10th LD, Position 2; Ashley Gregorius, candidate, WA Rep. 10th LD; Melanie Bacon, Island County Commissioner, District 1; Janet St. Clair, Island County Commissioner, District 3; Kirk Blankenship (incumbent) and James Golder candidate, WhidbeyHealth Commissioner, District 2; South Whidbey School Board incumbents Ann M. Johnson, Position 5, Andrea Downs, Position 2, Marnie Jackson, Position 4; Oak Harbor School Board incumbents Erik Mann and John Diamond; Coupeville School Board candidates Nancy Conard, Position 2 and Morgan White, Position 5 (not present); Shane Hoffmeier, candidate, Oak Harbor City Council, Position 5; Langley Councilmember candidates Rhonda Salerno, Position 2 and Gail Fleming, Position 5; South Whidbey Fire EMS candidate Savannah Erickson. Judy Morton presented Swing Left Whidbey promoted participation in national elections.
Our invited speakers gave updates on upcoming elections and participated in Q&A, chat room discussions and information on how to get involved in local and national races.
Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, pediatrician, professor and public health advocate joined us at the fifth annual Trudy Sundberg Sno-Isle Lecture on May 7, 2021. Dr. Hanna-Attisha’s research exposed the Flint water crisis. She is now director of an initiative to mitigate the impact of the crisis, with the goal that all Flint children grow up healthy and strong.
